Babies and Butterflies

These are my most recent creations... Last night (early morning) to be exact! I am so happy to have met some wonderful friends through, who else??? Noel! Jeanine's sister, Tracy, and her husband, Eric, are expecting their first baby in February and it's a little girl! Her baby shower was today, and I think these were a big hit!

On Top of Spaghetti...

You all know Noel now... Well, she's my best customer! She ordered these cupcakes for her dad's birthday; and since he's Italian and all, well, we just had to have the dessert to follow the theme!

Open Your Gift!

This cake was ordered by one of my team members in Mary Kay! Nayeli special ordered it for her husband's birthday and I won't even tell you how much butter and shortening that frosting had in it!

Happy Birthday, Julie!

Most folks who know me know that I am a full-fledged and proud Mary Kay Beauty Consultant! I have been having an amazing time with Mary Kay and I am so excited about my business-- in fact, I am pursuing Mary Kay on a full-time basis now! On December 2nd, our Cadillac unit's beloved Sales Director, Julie Thomas, celebrated her 40th birthday! All of Team Thomas gathered at our Fremont Success Center to surprise her with a birthday party! Of course, I was so thrilled to make her cake and from what I hear, it was a sure-fire hit! Thank you, Julie, for your inspiration, motivation, belief, and unyielding faith in each one of us! It has meant the world to so many...especially me!

A Moment Like This...

If there was only one reason I started baking and decorating cakes five years ago, it would be so I could create this one. Last Saturday, October 10, 2009, not only did I get to be a bridesmaid in a wedding for one of the kindest, most wonderful, precious friends a girl could ask for, but I had the ultimate honor of creating her cake, too!

Noel was absolutely stunning, and her brand-new husband, Jorge, was as proud as could be (and rightfully so!). I can't begin to describe how lovely the entire day was, but the pictures speak for themselves. I love you to pieces, Noel! Congratulations on the beginning of such a beautiful future with the love of your life.

Stop and Smell the Flowers...

This cake is very near and dear to my heart because it was made for one of the best friends a girl could ever ask for. Noel (the beautiful gal in the photo) is getting married in October and I have the honor of making her wedding cake, too! The Gerbera daisy is her theme flower, her colors are red, orange, coral, and yellow, and she is going to be an absolutely gorgeous bride! We threw Noel a surprise bridal shower on August 8th and we all had such a good time. Since one of her colors is red, the cake was red velvet and I iced it with cream cheese frosting...if you only knew how much cream cheese and butter went into it! I love you to pieces, Noel!!!

How Much is that Doggie in the Window?

This was a fun little (well, not so little) cake I did for my friend Pam's daughter, Kayla's, 6th birthday party. Her theme was puppies, and instead of a typical cake, she wanted a Milk Bone! It turned out pretty doggone (pun intended) cute... I hadn't done a dog-themed cake up to now, but obviously dog bones are in my repertoire now!

Da Dum Da Dum!

After what seems like a long hiatus from posting a new picture, I proudly present my second wedding cake! This cake was for Grant and his new wife, Kelly-- It's about darn time they tied the knot! They told me it was a small affair and that I had full control over the final outcome of the cake. Since it was a simple wedding, I wanted the cake to follow that theme, yet still have the feel of a fancy cake. The "ball and chain" wedding topper added to their humorous nature and I think it turned out really nice.

Now The Race Is On!

Alright, alright, I know I have a ton of pictures of this one to show, but I couldn't figure out what angle was best to capture the point of it! These cupcakes were ordered for a bike-themed birthday party for my boss' eight-year-old son. She was really excited to see the final outcome, and I had a great time putting this together. If you can't tell, the bike begins its journey on the blacktop and ends on the shores of a lake hidden by a forest of trees...

Helllloooo Baby!

I just made and delivered this cake yesterday, and I gotta say, this was a fun one! I know I say that a lot, but trust me... they aren't all fun. Of course, as soon as I arrived at the baby shower, Mother Nature had another type of shower in mind! It was raining cats and dogs when I got to the house to deliver the cake, but all was well! I got the cake in the house with no trouble, and from what I hear, the cake was a hit!
