An All-time Favorite Request...

I think I have done more chocolate cakes with chocolate frosting and chocolate-covered strawberries than any other cake! This one seems to be a favorite with everyone, and honestly, it's one of mine, too!

Who's Your Caddy?

I just made these cupcakes for my dear friend, Noel's fiance's birthday this weekend. I spent Saturday creating royal icing trees and 18 mini flags! The cupcakes were chocolate and had a "you ain't kiddin' it's buttercream!" buttercream icing. It tasted good, but by golly, there was no mistaking that the frosting had an entire pound of butter in it! Paula, watch out!

It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas!

Oh my favorite holiday! When I figured out how to make these lovely poinsettia flowers out of royal icing, no one could stop me! I think I made three of these cakes in December of 2004...Perhaps I will have to revisit this beauty this year with some new touches!

These were both lovely cakes made for lovely ladies. Of course, my dear friend, Noel, deserves only the best...I made that monster for maybe 10 people?? Needless to say, there was a lot leftover, but I was a bit overzealous and wanted to give her the grandest cake I could!

Just Because...

Both the fondant covered present and the flower cakes were other assignments in the cake decorating classes I took a few years ago, so I took them to work as a "just because" cake. The "Love Ya More" cake has a very sweet (no pun intended) story behind it. The gentleman who ordered it, did so for his wife as a thank you for taking such good care of him...how precious is that, I ask you? I honestly can't remember why I made the Piroline cake, so it gets to fall in the "just because" category!

Milestones...

So, although the events were quite different, these were ordered for two different milestones. The gold watch was ordered for a retirement party. The cake says "goodbye again" because this was the second time the person retired! I hope I only have to retire once!

I just made this cake about two weeks ago for a co-worker's birthday at work. It was a total experimental death by chocolate cake, but I actually had someone tell me it was one of the best things she had ever eaten! Flattery gets you everywhere! Ha!

Here Comes The Bride!

So far, this is the only cake I have been commissioned to do for a wedding...BUT, I will be doing my dear, dear friend, Noel's wedding cake next October and I couldn't be more proud! Do I even have to tell you what an honor it is to be asked to make a cake of this magnitude!??? One's wedding day is up there with the most important days of a person's life and to have the opportunity to provide them with such a memorable cake is amazing.

A Rose By Any Other Name...

Would taste as sweet! This was one of the assignments I had to complete in my third and final cake decorating class three years ago. Those roses were quite an undertaking, but the results were worth it! I think this could totally pass for a wedding cake!

Oh Baby!

It is such a pleasure and joy to make a baby shower cake...A baby shower is such a blessed event and to somehow be a part of it is such a special feeling. It sounds goofy, but photos run wild at showers and knowing that my cakes will be a part of people's photo albums forever is very heartwarming.

The blocks were made for a friend's nephew's 1st birthday and the little round cake was the one he got to dig his little hands into!!!

The tiered cake with the little bear was very close to my heart. My "little" cousin and his girlfriend announced two Christmases ago that they were expecting a little bundle of joy and I couldn't have been happier for him! I was absolutely delighted to provide the cake for their baby shower! This is one of my favorites still to this day...

Wild Thang!

How could a child's birthday be complete without a wild cake!? The bear is a pretty popular request...I mean, how could you resist! He is almost too cute to eat and looks as though you could pick him up and snuggle with him!
