Now The Race Is On!

Alright, alright, I know I have a ton of pictures of this one to show, but I couldn't figure out what angle was best to capture the point of it! These cupcakes were ordered for a bike-themed birthday party for my boss' eight-year-old son. She was really excited to see the final outcome, and I had a great time putting this together. If you can't tell, the bike begins its journey on the blacktop and ends on the shores of a lake hidden by a forest of trees...

Helllloooo Baby!

I just made and delivered this cake yesterday, and I gotta say, this was a fun one! I know I say that a lot, but trust me... they aren't all fun. Of course, as soon as I arrived at the baby shower, Mother Nature had another type of shower in mind! It was raining cats and dogs when I got to the house to deliver the cake, but all was well! I got the cake in the house with no trouble, and from what I hear, the cake was a hit!

An All-time Favorite Request...

I think I have done more chocolate cakes with chocolate frosting and chocolate-covered strawberries than any other cake! This one seems to be a favorite with everyone, and honestly, it's one of mine, too!

Life is a Highway!

This car cake was ordered by my aunt for her boss...they work at a car manufacturing plant! I'd say that this cake choice was a pretty darn appropriate one!

Who's Your Caddy?

I just made these cupcakes for my dear friend, Noel's fiance's birthday this weekend. I spent Saturday creating royal icing trees and 18 mini flags! The cupcakes were chocolate and had a "you ain't kiddin' it's buttercream!" buttercream icing. It tasted good, but by golly, there was no mistaking that the frosting had an entire pound of butter in it! Paula, watch out!
30 cupcakes $2.25/ea.

Happy Haunts Materialize...

When you're a big kid at heart like I am, Halloween is the best! These were VERY early attempts at cake decorating, four years ago, but I thought it was only proper to display them now! BOO!
8" round with buttercream or whipped cream
Serves 20 $2.25/per person

It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas!

Oh my favorite holiday! When I figured out how to make these lovely poinsettia flowers out of royal icing, no one could stop me! I think I made three of these cakes in December of 2004...Perhaps I will have to revisit this beauty this year with some new touches!

More Birthdays!

These were both lovely cakes made for lovely ladies. Of course, my dear friend, Noel, deserves only the best...I made that monster for maybe 10 people?? Needless to say, there was a lot leftover, but I was a bit overzealous and wanted to give her the grandest cake I could!
2-tiered heart cake with buttercream or whipped cream
Serves 56 $2.25 per person

The daisy cake was made for a wonderful lady, Val, with whom I worked at Kidango when I was a teacher (once upon a time)...It was a pretty little number-simple, but pretty.

Serves 18 $2.50 per person

Just Because...

Both the fondant covered present and the flower cakes were other assignments in the cake decorating classes I took a few years ago, so I took them to work as a "just because" cake. The "Love Ya More" cake has a very sweet (no pun intended) story behind it. The gentleman who ordered it, did so for his wife as a thank you for taking such good care of him...how precious is that, I ask you? I honestly can't remember why I made the Piroline cake, so it gets to fall in the "just because" category!

Milestones...

So, although the events were quite different, these were ordered for two different milestones. The gold watch was ordered for a retirement party. The cake says "goodbye again" because this was the second time the person retired! I hope I only have to retire once!

The graduation cake and cupcakes for made for my friend, Pam's, older daughter, Chantell and her friend when they graduated junior high.

What a Character!

I suppose these speak for themselves! The Happy Bunny was certainly effective, don't you think? Ha ha! Spongebob was done for my friend, Pam's, little girl, Kayla Lynn. I did two different Stitch cakes in about a month's time, too! He was pretty popular!

Catch a Wave!

Both of these cakes were done in 2005. My good friend, Roxanne, has a particular fondness for seals, so I would not settle on anything less for her birthday! After seeing her cake, a coworker asked for something similar, minus the seals for her friend's birthday...

Attention Sports Fans!

Ok, so digging back into my archive, here are a couple of other sport-themed cakes I've done in the past...So, now I'm up to two golf-themed birthdays, soon to be three, since this weekend I'll be doing a second cake for Noel's fiance! When I did the basketball court, I actually had to have my good friend, Richard, come over to help me with the details! I had no clue how the layout of a basketball court went...thank you, Richard!

Rave Reviews!

I just made this cake about two weeks ago for a co-worker's birthday at work. It was a total experimental death by chocolate cake, but I actually had someone tell me it was one of the best things she had ever eaten! Flattery gets you everywhere! Ha!
